Frequently Asked Questions

Is my pet cremated by his/her self?

Absolutely yes. We firmly believe in individual private cremation for every animal. At the time of cremation, it will only be your loved one placed in the cremation unit.

Do you cremate any pet?

Yes, we cremate all pets from rats to ferrets, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and exotic pets.

What size animal do you accept for cremation?

Our facility is able to accommodate any animal specie up to 150 pounds.

What are your normal business hours?

Our normal business hours are Monday thru Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 10 to 3.

What do we do after hours?

If your pet dies when we are not at our facility, we recommend the following:

  1. If your pet is small or if you have a large pet indoors, keep the room they are in as cool as reasonably possible. If your pet is small enough and you are comfortable with the idea, you may wrap your pet and place them in a cooler or in a freezer until service can be provided. This does not affect our process in any way. At this time, if you wish, you may remove your pet's collar or clip a lock of hair. Also, you can decide if there are any items you would like to send with your loved one.
  2. Call our 24 hour support line at 703-378-8378. One of our technicians can meet you at our facility to take in your pet at any time. There is an after hours fee of $175 plus the cremation fee of $189. Your pet will be cremated the next business day.
    Toll Free: 1-888-378-6699
  3. We can also come to your residence for the transfer. Our fee for home transfer is $259.00 for the first 30 mile radius of our facility in Chantilly, VA. After 30 miles, we charge $3 per mile one way. This is in addition to the cremation fee of $189.

If you would like your pet transferred from your residence, please understand we need access to your home. This means we will need a space close by to park the vehicle as well as access to and from your yard. If you have a gate to the yard, please unlock it and make sure there is a clear path free from hoses, rakes etc. If your pet is inside your home, it is preferable to have them on the first floor. We may need to manipulate a stretcher (2 feet wide by 7 feet long) in the area where your pet is located. If you have questions, please call our facility at 703-378-8378.

What if my pet dies at the Veterinarian's office?

If or when a final appointment is made with your veterinarian, it is a good idea to let us know, so we may coordinate with the veterinarian. When we arrive at the veterinarian's office, we make certain all paperwork associated with your pet matches the name on the tag placed on your pet. At no time is your pet cremated without an identifying tag. Our charge for a pet transfer from a veterinarian office is a minimum of $175. You do have the option of bringing your loved one to our facility from the veterinarian's office.

What is the cost of cremation?

Our charge for individual private cremation of any specie of animal is $189. Please see our link to pricing on this website. We cannot accommodate animals over 150 pounds in our animal cremation unit.

What size urn will I need?

By design, cremation urns have different capacities referenced in cubic inches. Although there is no scientific formula to calculate capacity, a simple method is to allow for 1 cubic inch for every pound of the pet that is cremated. This formula will be affected by the type of container the pet may be cremated in (cardboard vs. wood). The cremated remains are placed in a plastic bag in a cardboard temporary container unless an urn is purchased. Please visit our Products page to view our complete line.

What should we expect if we want to be present for our pet's cremation service?

If you would like to be present for your pets cremation, we provide a small private room for you to spend time with your pet.  When you are ready for the cremation, our staff will lead you into the cremation area to the Animal cremation unit.  You will witness your pet being placed into the unit and the process began. It is imperative to schedule with our facility to be present for the cremation and allow you to bring your pets cremated remains home the same day. The fee for witnessing is $350 plus the cremation fee of $189.
